It has been brought to the club’s attention that damage has been done to seats in Block T of the Curragh Road Stand at recent matches. This includes the breaking of the seats themselves and in some instances the metal structure holding the seats together. This is predominantly being caused by supporters standing/jumping on seats.
The club has held discussions with the Munster FA on the matter, and it has been made clear to us that further damage will result in the club being billed for replacement of seating as well as, potentially, closure of the areas affected.
We have had tremendous support at Turner’s Cross this season, with supporters generating a fantastic atmosphere, however damage being done to seating is not something that will be tolerated.
The club has already received over €3,000 in fines as a result of supporter misconduct this season, and the possibility of further bills due to damage being done is unacceptable.
All involved in the club appreciate the atmosphere generated by supporters in this section, and want this to continue. The last thing anyone at the club wants to do is to have to deal with bills for damage or to take action against those responsible for this damage, however, we cannot allow this behaviour to be repeated without consequence.
We remind all supporters attending Turner’s Cross of the need to adhere to all stadium regulations.
