It will be the first match for City under interim head coach Colin Healy, after taking charge of the first team following Neale Fenn’s departure.

The Rebel Army come into the game off the back of last Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at home to St. Patrick’s Athletic, which left them one point behind Finn Harps at the bottom of the table. A win on Friday evening would see City climb one spot to ninth, a point behind Shelbourne.

Speaking on Thursday afternoon, Healy said: “The first day of training was good. There was a great atmosphere. The players enjoyed it, the coaches enjoyed it and I enjoyed it. Everyone trained, which was great. It gives me a selection headache, which is always a good thing.

Dalymount is a tough place to go – I’ve been there as a player, I’ve been there as a coach, it’s always difficult. Bohs are a very good side, they’re very well set up – they’re compact, they’re organised and they’ve got very good players. It’s going to be a tough task, but then again, we’ve got some very good players here, so we’ll be ready for it.”

Speaking at the press conference earlier in the week, Kit Elliott said: “We’ve had a few meetings this week, we know last week wasn’t our best performance. We know it wasn’t good enough and we must improve for Friday. The players know that we need to rally together. These next 5 games are massive, and we’ve got to get as many points as possible. I’m fully fit now, I’ve been training with the squad and I’m feeling good.”

Healy will have a full squad to choose from, with no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to the capital. Cian Coleman misses out through suspension, after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season.

The match will be broadcast live on the SSE Airtricity League’s brand-new streaming service, #WATCHLOI! Supporters can purchase a Half-Season Pass for just €39, which will ensure access to streams of all remaining SSE Airtricity League Premier Division matches for the rest of the season, as well as select FAI Cup ties.
