Cork City are back in home league action on Friday evening, as they welcome Galway United to Turner’s Cross.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Rebel Army come into the game having extended their unbeaten run to 18 games after the victory over Bray Wanderers – a run that started the last time City and Galway faced off at Turner’s Cross, the second game of this season. City suffered a 1-0 loss that night and have not lost a league game since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The visitors, managed by former City boss John Caulfield, come into the game after a 3-0 win last week against Cobh Ramblers in Eamonn Deacy Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at his pre-match press conference in Bishopstown, City boss Colin Healy said: “It\u2019s another big game and they\u2019re a good side. Both teams are going well at the moment so it will be a good, entertaining game of football. There\u2019ll be a big crowd here, which is great for the club and great for the city.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We\u2019re in a good position at the moment, the players have been fantastic, the crowds have been fantastic. Our supporters are incredible, they travel up and down the country and that\u2019s very much appreciated by myself, the staff and the players.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The last two games against Galway have been close, and Friday will be no different. It\u2019s going to be difficult. We need to make sure that we do our job correctly and put on a good performance for us and for the fans.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ally Gilchrist was also in the hot seat this week, saying: “I\u2019m really looking forward to it, and all the boys are too. It\u2019s the biggest game for the club in a few years. It\u2019s an attractive tie\u2026 It\u2019s a bit feisty, and a the big crowd on Friday will give us a big boost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There\u2019s still a lot to play for, but hopefully we can win this game and get another important three points.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the injury front, Healy has an almost full squad to choose from, with the exception of Alec Byrne, who continues his recovery from injury. Gordon Walker featured in the friendly against Stoke, and is available on Friday. New signing Louis Britton, and the returning Barry Coffey are also available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
