City currently sit at the top of the table, level on points with Galway, but ahead on goal difference, while Wexford sit in sixth.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference in Bishopstown, City boss Colin Healy said: “The players always look forward to a game on a Friday night, so when you don’t have a game to look forward to, training can sometimes become flat. That hasn’t been the case here, training has been very good with a great intensity to it, and we’ll be looking to bring that into Friday night’s game. They’ve had one or two days off, and have come back fresh and are ready to go for Friday night.”

“Wexford are a very good side with a very good coach. They’ve got some very good attacking players. We’ve watched their games from recent weeks and they’ve been unlucky. They’re a good side and we know that we have to be ready.”

Kevin O’Connor was also on media duty this week, saying: “We haven’t been conceding a lot of goals, and that’s something we have a lot of pride in. Us lads at the back, we know that if we keep a clean sheet, we’ll win the game because we trust the lads going forward. We’ve been doing well so far.”

On the injury front, Healy confirmed that Dylan McGlade has returned to full training, while Gordon Walker is back running. Alec Byrne will remain sidelined for a few weeks, as he continues his recovery.

Tickets for the game can be purchased via TicketCo here, and will also be available from the ticket huts outside Turner’s Cross prior to kick-off.
