It will be the third meeting of the sides this season, with both previous games ending in draws.

City come into the game off the back of last Friday’s scoreless draw away to Treaty United, while Bray defeated Cobh Ramblers 2-1 in St. Coleman’s Park on Saturday despite going down to ten men following Daniel Jones’ red card.

Speaking at his weekly press conference in Bishopstown, City boss Colin Healy knows that another difficult match awaits his side this weekend: “They’re a very good side. In the game at Turner’s Cross, we were 2-0 up but we let them back in to the game and he players have learned from that over the last month or two. Bray have got some very good players – the likes of Boyle and Kavanagh. Those players can hurt you, so we need to be careful there.”

City look unlikely to reach the playoff spots this season, but Healy says that it’s crucial that promotion is won next season: “I still think that we should have been better this season, but we know we have to push forward now for next year. The job next year is to go and get promoted. I have no bother saying that. People might say that that puts pressure on myself, but that’s what this football club demands. We should be in the Premier Division. It’s going to be tough, but we have to get back in the Premier Division as quickly as we can. We’re willing to put in the hard work to get us where we want to go.”

On the injury front, Josh Honohan, Gearoid Morrissey and Jonas Häkkinen could feature, while Rob Slevin, Uniss Kargbo and Steven Beattie remain sidelined.

The match will also be broadcast on LOI TV, and you can purchase a single match pass for just €5.

Referee: Michael Connolly

Injury News: Steven Beattie, Uniss Kargbo, Rob Slevin

Last game: Treaty United 0-0 City

Last meeting: City 2-2 Bray Wanderers

League Form (League, most recent game first): D L W D W W

Cork City are back on the road on Friday evening, heading to the Carlisle Grounds to take on fifth-placed Bray Wanderers.
