They will be hoping to bounce back against a Harps side which has four points from their opening two games, but saw their Monday night fixture against Shelbourne fall victim to the weather.

Reflecting on a tough weekend, City boss Neale Fenn spoke to the media on Tuesday, but the City boss was keen to look forward to Friday’s game: “Losing any match is disappointing, and to lose three nil, of course, is very disappointing. Was it an improvement from Friday? I felt it was. Were we as much of a threat going forward? We certainly weren’t, but that was the way we set up. With the result on Friday, I felt we needed to get a bit of respectability back, for want of a better word, and not be a soft touch. “

“I think the onus is on us to take the game to Finn Harps. I think they will be dogged and will sit in; from the games I have watched, that is what I would expect. It will be up to us to break them down and to try and get a goal. They have had a great start; all credit to Ollie and Heggsy up there. They have got a system, a way of playing and they are very difficult to break down.”

“It is a tough league, it is an unforgiving league, but we are learning. If you don’t defend properly, you will get punished and we have seen that over the last two games. I am determined to approach this game in a positive fashion. We want to go and win the game, and I feel that we can. We have learned a lot over the last few games and we need to go out and show a true reflection of what we are all about. We are at home, and we want to go out and take the game to them. I have belief in our squad, I have belief in the players and I believe that we have goals in us.”

Deshane Dalling returns from suspension, meaning Conor Davis is the only confirmed absentee.

Read Friday’s match programme, City Edition online for only €2: Click here.

Referee: Neil Doyle

Injury News: Conor Davis

Suspended: None

[sc name=”social-fixture”]

[event_list id=”79234″ title=”Match Day 4 Fixtures” team=”0″ league=”0″ venue=”0″ status=”default” date=”default” day=”4″ order=”default” columns=”event,teams,time,venue” show_all_events_link=”4″ align=”none”]

Cork City are back at Turner’s Cross on Friday night, as they face Finn Harps.
